COMMISSIONING OF CHPS COMPOUND AT NEW ADWAMPONG

The Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly (AKDA) has commissioned a Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound at New Adwampong.This is to provide first aid medical health care to the people in the Adwampong community as well as its surrounding areas.The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly, in his address said that, it is quite worrying that people would have to travel long distances especially from the rural to urban areas before they can access healthcare and with the existence of a community-based planning and services (CHPS) compound, at least, first aid be administered before patients are referred to bigger health facilities should the need arise.

Hon. Prince Karikari stated that, the commissioning of the facility was yet another milestone since the under his tenure of office and that of the Assembly, and was confident that the new facility will radically go a long way to improve health delivery services for the area in years to come.He stressed that, the Akufo Addo-Bawumiah led administration will continue to deliver on their mandate as expected of them hence, the construction of a befitting health facility and road been constructed for the to benefit from.Hon. Karikari indicated that, a new 100 bed hospital is under construction at Trede as well as a 40-bed hospital also under construction at Twedie, all within six years under the NPP administration which hitherto the district had no hospital to show off.Despite the advent of the deadly Covid-19 disease, which brought the world economy to a standstill which Ghana was not left out, but with the dedication and hard work of the government, the Ghanaian economy is reviving steadily, hence the decline in fuel prices and the Ghana cedi gaining some strength, he stated”.He urged all to rally behind the NPP government to deliver on its promises and again do more, urging Nananom to help promote unity among themselves towards the developmental agenda of the community and the district at large.

The Atwima Kwanwoma District Health Director, Mr. Joseph Adomako, said the Assembly has done its part in providing a health facility for the people of New Adwampong community and hoped the people will give their maximum cooperation for the centre to function effectively and serve their health needs better.He further admonished the people to patronize the centre and make the good use of the place so as to make its existence relevant with the assurance that, if the need be cases that cannot be attended to will be transferred to a bigger facility for attention.
