SPECIAL ASSEMBLY MEETING HELD

The Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly has held its Special Assembly Meeting at the Assembly’s Conference Hall on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.

The meeting was to form the various sub-committees and the mandatory committees of the Assembly to navigate the affairs of the assembly as they see to the smooth running of the activities of the assembly.

In his opening remarks, Hon. Prince Karikari expressed his appreciation to the Assembly Members, Management and staff of the assembly for their support and cooperation. He used the opportunity to bring to speed on the state of roads across the district and promised to tackle the challenges associated with roads in the area before his tenure of office.

He promised an improved development for the various communities in the district, In the coming months and to share the district cake equitably for the good people of Atwima Kwanwoma in the area of roads, classroom blocks, water and sanitation among others.

Mr. Karikari also implored all members of the house to work assiduously to uplift the image of the assembly since the assembly’s performance depends on the output of the various committees, urging them to work closely as a team with each other as well as the technocrats for a uniform report which is agreed on before presented to the executive committee level.

“Show respect to each other, submit, ensure sanity and eschew all forms of politics partisan politics and politics of insults and ensure peace as actors of the game as the country goes to polls in December, 2024”, he admonished.

On the part of the Chairman of the august house, the Hon. Presiding Member, Mr. Anthony Kwame Nsiah, thanked all elected and appointed members of the assembly for their understanding and team work especially during the election of the Presiding Member.

Mr. Kwame Nsiah urged them to be time conscious and work diligently as a team to help build a better Atwima Kwanwoma in the coming days.

Adding her voice to it, the District Coordinating Director, Madam Eunice Korankye, advised the assembly members to liaise well with the secretaries to the various committees to work hard and also to scrutinize the system for the betterment of the assembly. SOURCE: SAMUEL ANTWI ISD
