327 FARMERS BENEFITED FROM FREE COCOA SEEDLINGS IN ATWIMA KWANWOMA DISTRICT

The District Chief Executive for Atwima Kwanwoma District, Nana Okyere Tawiah Antwi, distributed about 65,000 improved cocoa seedlings to 327 cocoa farmers in the district. The purpose of the distribution was to support cocoa farmers in the district in order to produce high-yielding, quality beans that are internationally accepted.

The DCE praised cocoa farmers for their immense contribution to the socioeconomic development of the nation. He appealed to the youth of Atwima Kwanwoma District to take advantage of the intervention by the government to go into cocoa farming to transform their living conditions.

In a related development, the Hon. Antwi questioned the youth about engaging in drugs such as tramadol, Indian heroin, and cocaine. He added that the Assembly will soon embark on an operation to arrest and prosecute those engaged in such drugs in the district.

He highlighted the intervention policy of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo, which includes the expansion of LEAP, provision of established businesses for physically challenged persons in the district, and NABCO, which intends to employ about 350 graduates in the district.
