DISTRICT CHIEF EXECUTIVE DISTRIBUTE CEMENT TO SCHOOLS IN ATWIMA KWANWOMA

As part of government initiative to enroll every Ghanaian school-going-age child into schools and improve the quality of education in the country, On the 24th October, 2017, the DCE of Atwima Kwanwoma distributed cement to schools in the district to improve the standard of education in the district.

The total of 190 bags out of 400 bags of cement has being distributed to some schools for renovation of some communities in the district.

Below are the schools that received the items:

  1. Apemanim kokoben for toilet facility in the school: 50 bags of cement
  2. Bebu D\A primary / JHS -50 bags of cement for renovation of school building
  3. Ampatia Police Station: 30 bags of cement for finishing the police station project.
  4. Hemang D/A J.H.S 60 bags of cement for renovation of the school building

All the projects are community-initiated projects.

He therefore called on other communities to enumerate their colleagues to initiate projects for their communities. He also called on all headmasters and headmistresses in the district to submit documents on their school lands to the assembly for proper checks on the government properties.

On that note, he urged people encroaching on school lands to desist from it or stand the chance of losing their properties to the school.

The DCE advised the students to take their studies seriously in order to become good citizens in the future. The DCE called on parents to use money meant for the payment of their children’s school fees as savings now that they are enjoying free SHS in order to help them continue from SHS to the tertiary level.

In latest development, the DCE received items from the Coco Board through the district chief farmer, Mr. Benjamin Marfo who is in charge of CODAPEST. The items are five spraying machines for five spraying gangs in the district and materials for sprayers such as 35 overall, 35 warranting boots, 35 hats, and 35 hand gloves for the cocoa mass spraying program in the district.
