As a means to ensure poverty reduction among inhabitants within the district and especially the vulnerable groups, the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development in collaboration with BENCOM YOUTH ASSOCIATION an NGO organized a workshop on the production of mushroom from the 27th _30th of December,2023 for Thirty Six(36) people within the distinct. In attendance were Peron Living with Disability, Leap Beneficiaries and others. The training aimed at equipping participants with the requisite knowledge and skills for them to be able produce and sell their own mushrooms in order to earn a living.
